Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning's son, Marshall, has reportedly enrolled at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he will attend classes as an eighth grader, potentially being eligible for the 2030 national recruiting cycle instead of 2029, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the Chattanooga Times Free Press' Stephen Hargis on Friday (July 18).
"Sources have confirmed that Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning's son, Marshall, has enrolled at @baylorschool, where he will attend as an eighth-grade day student @BaylorSchoolFB @RaiderRecap," Hargis wrote on his X account.
Baylor School enrolls students in grades 6 through 12 and has one of the best high school sports programs in Tennessee, having "won more TSSAA state championships than any other school," according to its website. Baylor School's high school football team has won two TSSAA state championships, the last of which came in 2022 and made an appearance in the Class AAA state championship game, a loss to its cross town rival McCallie.
“We’re excited about the upcoming year for many reasons,” Angel told the Chattanooga Times Free Press, though not mentioning Manning's name specifically.
“Baylor is entering our 133rd year with great momentum and a strong sense of purpose. While we do not comment on individual students out of respect for their privacy, I can say that we are welcoming an exceptional group of new students who will be joining a vibrant and dynamic student body. At Baylor, we are committed to providing every student with the opportunity to thrive and make the most of their experience.”
Peyton Manning has strong ties to the state of Tennessee dating back to his College Football Hall of Fame career at the University of Tennessee, where he finished with 42 NCAA, SEC and school records prior to a Hall of Fame NFL career.
